HP Tuners GM E42 ECM Service (L5P, Global B)

HP Tuners’ one-time send-in upgrade service for the GM Global B E42 ECM used in the latest-generation 6.6L Duramax platform. The original E42 ECM must be upgraded before custom tuning with VCM Suite.

Supported Applications

• 2024–2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 6.6L L5P Duramax
• 2024–2026 GMC Sierra 2500/3500 6.6L L5P Duramax
• 2024–2026 Chevrolet Silverado 4500/5500/6500 6.6L L5D Duramax
• 2024–2026 GMC Sierra 4500/5500/6500 6.6L L5D Duramax

2017–2023 Silverado/Sierra 2500/3500 L5P trucks use the earlier E41 ECM service instead.

Requirements

• Your vehicle’s original E42 ECM. Spare ECMs are not accepted.
• Latest VCM Suite BETA and an internet connection.
• 8 HP Tuners Universal Credits, sold separately.
• An HP Tuners MPVI3 or HP Tuners MPVI4 interface.

Service Notes

• This is an upgrade-only service for the original E42 ECM.
• ECMs with broken locking tabs or connectors are not accepted.
• Do not temporarily install and relearn a spare ECM while the original is being serviced.
• Dealer diagnostics and VCM Scanner continue to function normally.
• Processing time does not include shipping and varies with HP Tuners’ current controller-service workload.
