- Product Overview
If purchasing credits for an HP Tuners interface you already own, include the interface Serial Number and Verification Code in the order notes.
PowerLabs manually fulfills Universal Credit orders. Please allow up to 1 business day for credits to be added to your interface.
How Universal Credits Work
HP Tuners uses a credit-based licensing system. Universal Credits act as the currency used to license supported vehicle controllers for tuning. The number of credits required varies by vehicle and by controller.
Many applications require credits for the ECM/PCM, while supported TCM, FICM, CCM, or other controllers may require additional credits. Confirm the exact requirement on the HP Tuners Supported Vehicles page before purchasing.
Vehicle Licensing
Vehicle licenses are tied to identifying information including the VIN, controller operating system, and controller serial number. As long as those values do not change, the licensed vehicle remains licensed to that interface and can be tuned again without repurchasing the same license.
A compatible HP Tuners interface can store a large number of vehicle licenses and can be used across supported applications.
When Credits Are Used
With an MPVI4, you can read, edit, and save supported calibration files before licensing the vehicle. Credits are consumed when you are ready to license the applicable controller and write a modified calibration.
Activating Purchased Credits
- Install the latest version of HP Tuners VCM Suite.
- Connect your HP Tuners interface to your computer.
- Connect the computer to the internet.
- Open VCM Editor or VCM Scanner and select Help > Resync Interface.
The resync process updates your interface account information and may also update device firmware when required.
Important
Universal Credits are a digital product and are final sale. Confirm your current credit balance and the number of credits required for your vehicle before ordering.
