HP Tuners GM E90/T93 Upgrade Kit

Upgrade a compatible non-Global B GM E90 ECM for HP Tuners calibration and diagnostics without removing the ECM from the vehicle. This kit is designed for supported E90-equipped GM trucks and allows the controller upgrade to be performed in the garage or shop using compatible HP Tuners hardware and VCM Suite BETA.

Important T93 update: As of March 17, 2026, supported non-Global-B T93 TCMs no longer require an upgrade using this kit or a send-in T93 service. The T93 can be licensed and tuned normally through the OBDII port. The E90 ECM still requires an upgrade before tuning.

• Pre-facelift, non-Global B applications

What You Need

• This GM E90/T93 Upgrade Kit
• An MPVI3 or newer device. The latest-generation HP Tuners MPVI4 is available here.
• The latest version of HP Tuners VCM Suite BETA
• 6 HP Tuners Universal Credits to license each upgraded E90 ECM

MPVI, MPVI2, and MPVI2+ devices are not compatible with this kit. Credits are not included and must be purchased separately.

The T93 cable remains included with the kit, but currently supported non-Global-B T93 controllers no longer require the controller-upgrade procedure before tuning.

Important Notes

• An E90 ECM upgrade is required before tuning supported non-Global-B E90 applications in VCM Editor.
• Each upgraded E90 ECM requires 6 Universal Credits for licensing.
• No reprogramming or relearns are required when the E90 upgrade is completed with this kit.
• HP Tuners' existing E90 ECM service remains available as an alternative to performing the upgrade with this kit.
