Conveniently upgrade the E41 ECM found in supported 2017–2023 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500/3500 6.6L Duramax trucks without removing the ECM from the vehicle. The E41 Upgrade Kit enables the controller for HP Tuners calibration, scanning, logging, and writing through VCM Suite.

Have a 2018–2023 truck? HP Tuners now offers a direct OBDII upgrade option that does not require this kit or a send-in service. See the alternative upgrade section below before ordering.

Upgrade Your E41 ECM in the Garage or Shop

For supported applications that use this kit, the E41 upgrade can be completed without removing the controller from the truck, reducing the risk of damaging ECM tabs or connectors during removal and installation.

Kit Requirements

This kit works with MPVI2+ equipped with the Pro Feature Set, MPVI3, or the latest-generation HP Tuners MPVI4. MPVI and MPVI2 devices are not compatible with this kit.

You will also need the latest version of HP Tuners VCM Suite BETA and 6 HP Tuners Universal Credits to license the vehicle. Credits are sold separately.

Alternative 2018–2023 Direct OBDII Upgrade

Supported 2018–2023 L5P/L5D E41 trucks can now be upgraded directly through the OBDII port using VCM Suite. No E41 Upgrade Kit or send-in service is required.

For the direct OBDII upgrade, you need:

  • An MPVI3 or MPVI4 interface
  • 6 Universal Credits for licensing
  • The latest version of VCM Suite

When you are ready to flash the truck, VCM Suite will guide you through the controller upgrade.

2017 models are not eligible for the direct OBDII upgrade. Supported 2017 trucks still require either this E41 ECM Upgrade Kit or HP Tuners' send-in E41 ECM upgrade service.
